School Carnival

School Carnival means a festival celebrated by a grand number of people at one place for a long time. Everybody including school students, their parents and teachers had fun and enjoyed the school carnival. Our school organized a carnival during Christmas, one or two days before our winter break. This year we had our carnival on 19th December. All the students and teachers were busy with the preparations one month prior. The school was already decorated because of Christmas celebrations in our school. But a carnival on the same day was a good idea.

Each class, along with the teacher was given one food stall and at least two game stalls to handle. We have at least 65 classes starting from nursery to XII. But we have two wings, Junior for the primary section and Senior section for classes VI to XII. Both wings were fully decorated and stalls were displayed in a systematic manner. On the whole, we had numerous food stalls and game stalls for everybody.

A large variety of food items like pizza, patties, noodles, burgers, momos, pav bhaji, idli, dosa, pani-puri, icecreams, cold drinks and many more vegetarian items were served, at reasonable rates, unlike other schools making terrible profits. Our prices were affordable. Even we had a lot of game stalls like Lucky Seven, Under Seven, Lucky Dip, Hoopla, Rolling Nine-Pins, etc.

One minute games were very popular among the youth. The children loved the joy rides and jumping on Mickey Mouse. Our senior students dressed as clowns and other cartoon figures thrilled the little kids. They were moving in the field shaking hands with kids, and taking selfies on phones.

For ladies, we had Tambola (Housie) rounds. We also had a ‘Lucky Draw’. The first prize was a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, the second prize was a Vivo laptop, third prize was an LED. There were many consolation prizes as well.

This year, our carnival was a great success. We earned Rs. 75,000 which our school donated to the Shishu Bhavan Orphanage. At least 6000 people came to our carnival. It was a success because of our dedicated teachers, students and guidance of our principal.
