What is crude birth rate? What are its effects?

Crude birth rate (CBR) is expressed as number of live births in a year per thousand of women. It is calculated as

CBR = BiP × 1000

Where, Bi = Live births during the year, and P = Mid-year population of the area.

Population Effects:

  1. It affects change of population
  2. Increasing birth rate shows a positive growth of population.
