What does the writer recall about his childhood in Goa?

The writer fondly recalled that during his childhood he was woken up by the jingling sound of the baker’s bamboo. He and the other children would throng the baker for bread-bangles amid the rebukes from the elders. They would rush to peep into the baker’s basket and relish their favourite bread without bothering to brush their teeth.
