What categories of people were considered uncivilised by the Brahamanas?

Many communities of the society that were not a part of the Varna system were considered uncivilised by the Brahamanas.

  1. The forest dwellers or people engaged in hunting such as Nishadas were considered uncivilised.
  2. The nomadic pastoralists who find it difficult to become settled agriculturalists were also labelled as uncivilised.
