In what way is the forest pool different from the one which Ranji knew in the Rajputana desert?
The forest pool was very different even better from the one which Ranji knew in the Rajasthan desert, in the way that the water was very clear, so much that the smooth round pebbles could be easily seen at the bottom. A small stream fed the pool water. The rocks seemed to hold the water in the pool and perhaps it did not dry up like the pools in the plain. It also had cold water.
