Differentiate between Inscription and Prashasti.

A written record of historical events describing them in the order in which they took place is called an Inscription.

The Prashastis were generally composed by the court poets, learned people and the Brahmans of a kingdom. These were certain special kind of inscriptions, meaning “in praise of” and they were written or engraved on stones or metals in praise of the rulers or the kings of the kingdoms.
