What is Structured and Unstructured Observation?

In structured observation, the observer knows very well and precisely, what is to be observed, what information to be recorded. It is mostly used in studies, designed t provide. Systematic description or to test hypothesis and the unstructured observation is exactly opposite to the structured observation. In unstructured observation the investigator is free to observe and record whatever he thinks proper and useful.
