Before telling Miranda the true facts related to his life, Prospero puts away his magic cloak and asks Miranda to wipe off her tears and have comfort. The shipwreck has not caused any harm to any of the persons on board that ship. He adds that this sight was an illusion and bewildering. He has so arranged matters that no harm has come to anybody. When the ship was sinking, she heard cries of persons who were drowning, but none of these persons have suffered even by a layer of their hair.
