The desert plants and animals have adapted themselves to the scarcity of water in deserts as they have learnt how to adapt themselves to the climatic conditions of the desert and this is the reason why they require less water than most plants and animals. Some plants are strong enough, to have the capacity to store water in their stems, roots and other parts. They constantly suck moisture from the ground. The desert animals, too are able to consume and store more water but there are some animals like camels who can survive without water for many days. The smaller animals, on the other hand, face this adversity by not exposing themselves to heat during the day. Also, they eat other smaller animals from whose meat they could gather moisture. In this way, they have adapted themselves to the scarcity of water.
