I recall being rudely awakened one fine morning, by a loud announcement being made by a man moving in a rickshaw. Straining my ears, I realized that he was inviting the public to the inauguration of the City Hospital by the honourable Chief Minister of U.P. Mr. Yogi Adityanath. The inauguration was scheduled to take place on the 10th of October at 11 a.m.

Being curious about the facility offered at the hospital, and also to have a glimpse of the honourable Chief Minister, I decided to attend the event, which was to unfold close to my house. I reached there well before the event commenced and found the roads swamped by cars and number of security personnel. The flower decorated gate led to a huge pandal, in which were seated thousands of spectators. At 11 a.m. sharp. Dr. A. Narain, Head of the hospital, announced the arrival of the chief guest. I and the spectators rose to see the Chief Minister being escorted to the dais, amidst the dazzling flashlight of the cameras. There was the welcome address and presentation of bouquet for the chief guest. In his brief address, the chief guest exhorted the doctors, to fulfil the aspirations of the people, by providing quality health care facilities to them. Dr. Narain then invited the C.M. to unveil the cover, to formally dedicate the hospital to the public. The function finally came to an end.

This was a remarkable event of social importance for the residents of the locality, who were till now dependent on private hospitals for health care facilities. This super-specialized hospital would mitigate the suffering of the poor, and also provide treatment to patients, who need not go too far off places.
