Narrate an incident from your own experience when you helped a friend who was in trouble. Explain what happened. What did you do to make the situation better?

A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

Sometimes, two individuals of two different nationalities, religions, caste, creeds can turn out to be best friends. What is common between two friends? Is it their point of view, their nature, their likes or dislikes? I don’t know. But one thing I know for sure is that a true friend can never leave his/her friend in trouble. He/she will surely help his/her friend.

As we all know, cyber crimes are happening every now and then. Once my friend was victimised in cybercrime in this way. She had a Facebook account without her parents’ knowledge. She used to be awake till late at night, making new friends and sending friend requests and accepting them. Once she made friends with one Pakistani person who gave his fake name, photo, identity and hid his Pakistani nationality. They used to and then. He enquired everything from her, her family background, her financial condition etc. This stupid girl became so involved with him, that she started giving him every big or small detail of her family affairs.

He victimised her saying that “My mother is a cancer patient and I cannot get her treated because of my poor financial condition. Can you arrange 50000/- for me? I will soon return it to you. My A/C no. is such and such. I am working for a Multinational Company and very soon my loan will be passed then I will return you the money.” My friend was carried away with his words, and she promised him that she will transfer 50000/- within two days.

In the morning at our college, she mentioned to me the whole case. I started yelling at her, as to how she could help a stranger, who was just a Facebook friend? But she insisted and refused to listen to me. That day I took my father into my confidence who called her father. We informed him of the whole situation. My friend’s father was highly obliged and he immediately took the action of freezing her account. When she went to the bank to make a transfer, the Bank Manager, the Police Officer and her father opened up the whole truth, that she was not going to help her friend; instead, she was trapped in a racket of ISIS from Pakistan, who would have emptied her whole family’s account. Also, she would have been involved in helping a terrorist. The police showed her all the details of that person being a terrorist. She thanked her father and God for saving her. But her father revealed my father’s and my name who helped her in saving from a big mess. So, it is rightly said ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed. How could I see my friend in trouble?
